My achievements are not unlike that of any other Skin Therapist, having attained diplomas and certifications in Beauty and Body Therapy as well as in Threading and Makeup Artistry. I was fortunate enough to have been an apprentice to a remarkably accomplished Therapist who introduced me to the skin care brand Environ.
I found myself delving deeper into the science of our organ with Environ, improving my understanding and honing my skills in the care for it. Which is why I exclusively work with this brand.
Many of our biological systems play major roles in the condition of one's skin. In women it is predominantly affected by the menstrual cycle which can wreak havoc on the skin through the constant fluctuations in hormone levels, as well as in menopause with the major decrease in oestrogen levels. Our digestive system may also impact our skin, when we suffer from IBS etc, the body will make use of the skin as a means of releasing toxins.
Skin care is about managing these internal obstacles which are unavoidable, so that their impact is minimised.
My understanding of the skin is that of fragility and vulnerability because of its perpetual exposure to our environment.
Deterioration is a certainty, as with all other organs, which is why when caring for it at present, we must think how it will be affected in the future.
The approach I have created is conservative, allowing a skin to become accustomed to new ingredients and treatments with a steady and consistent build up. I prefer to slowly introduce clients into a routine so that I can monitor exactly how they react on a month to month basis.
Easing someone into a regime means that they don’t become overwhelmed by the commitment, while helping them to understand the individual importance of their products.
With me clients can expect an intimate experience, where my time is completely yours and all my care is already there.
